Zelenski agradece a Alemania por el envío del primer sistema antiaéreo de defensa IRIS-T
Según algunos expertos, el sistema IRIS-T es el más avanzado que existe en la actualidad. ‘Alemania ayudará a superar las consecuencias del terrorismo ruso de misiles’, expresó el presidente de Ucrania.
El presidente ucraniano Volodímir Zelenski agradeció este jueves (20.10.2022) al jefe de Estado alemán Frank-Walter Steinmeier la entrega del primer de cuatro sistemas aéros de defensa IRIS-T a Ucrania.
«Tuve una conversación sustancial y productiva con el presidente alemán Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Le agradecí por el primer sistema de defensa aérea IRIS. ¡Debemos desplegar lo antes posible un escudo aéreo sobre Ucrania!», escribió Zelenski en Twitter.
«Alemania ayudará a superar las consecuencias del terrorismo ruso de misiles”, agregó. Asimismo, señaló que su gobierno está «preparando la visita del presidente alemán a Ucrania».

Steinmeier canceló su primera visita a Ucrania desde el comienzo de la invasión rusa en respuesta a las recomendaciones de no viajar a Kiev debido a la tensa situación, después de que el ejército ruso haya intensificado sus ataques con misiles y drones en todo el territorio ucraniano.
Por su parte, el canciller alemán Olaf Scholz recordó este jueves ante el Bundestag que Alemania fue uno de los primeros países en comprometerse a entregar sistemas de defensa aérea a Ucrania. «Entregamos el primero de ellos a nuestros amigos ucranianos la semana pasada, antes de lo previsto inicialmente. Tres más le seguirán tan pronto como sea posible», señaló.
Los proyectiles del IRIS-T pueden alcanzar objetivos a una altura de 20 kilómetros y a una distancia de 40 kilómetros. Según algunos expertos, es el más avanzado que existe en la actualidad.
