Las autoridades de Vietnam han prohibido la importación y el comercio de animales salvajes y han cerrado los mercados donde se vendían de forma ilegal para reducir el riesgo de nuevas pandemias, informa la agencia Reuters.
La orden, firmada este jueves por el primer ministro del país, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, entra en vigor con carácter inmediato.
Vietnam es uno de los países asiáticos que más importa productos ilegales de fauna salvaje para después venderlos en los mercados especiales.
Allí se puede encontrar desde marfil hasta cuernos de rinoceronte, demandados por su supuesto valor medicinal.
