Un joven muere tras asistir a una ‘fiesta covid-19’ pensando que la enfermedad «era un engaño»
El evento habría sido organizado por una persona diagnosticada con la enfermedad para comprobar si ésta es real y ver si alguien se infectaba
Un hombre de 30 años ha fallecido tras asistir a una ‘fiesta covid-19’ en San Antonio (Texas, EE.UU.), donde contrajo la nueva enfermedad pensando que la actual pandemia «era un engaño», informó este sábado el New York Post.
La directora médica de la clínica en la que falleció, la Dra. Jane Appleby, explicó que el evento fue organizado por alguien que previamente había sido diagnosticado con el virus y que quiso comprobar si éste es real y si alguien se infectaba.
A primeros de julio, se informó sobre el peligro de las ‘fiestas covid’. Varios estudiantes infectados con la nueva enfermedad han celebrado fiestas en Tuscaloosa, en el estado de Alabama, para ver cuál de los presentes sanos era el primer en contagiarse. Los asistentes reúnen dinero en un bote y se lo lleva como premio el primero en infectarse.
Peligro real
Altos cargos sanitarios de EE.UU. han llamado la atención sobre el creciente número de casos de coronavirus en personas apenas mayores de 30 años, y alertan que la llamada generación ‘millennial’ puede estar más expuesta a esta enfermedad de lo que inicialmente se pensaba.
Este sábado se han registrado 71.389 nuevos casos de coronavirus en EE.UU., lo que supone un nuevo récord diario desde el inicio de la pandemia. Los contagios en el país norteamericano suman un total de 3.215.861, mientras que 134.430 personas han fallecido a causa del covid-19.
