Un grupo de personas intentó quemar la casa de una familia cuyos miembros están contagiados del coronavirus en la norteña ciudad chilena de Vallenar, en la región de Atacama, informó este miércoles el alcalde de la localidad, Cristián Tapia.
El suceso tuvo lugar la pasada noche, durante el toque de queda que rige a nivel nacional, una vez que se supo que una mujer que trabaja en una empresa minera de la zona dio positivo en el examen que detecta el coronavirus, del que contagio al resto de su familia.
Las autoridades sanitarias de Chile reportaron este miércoles trece nuevas muertes por el COVID-19, la mayor alza desde la llegada del virus al país, cifra que eleva los fallecidos a 160, e indicaron que los contagios ascienden a 11.296, tras confirmarse 464 nuevos casos.
Chile se encuentra bajo estado de excepción por catástrofe desde el pasado 18 de marzo, con toque de queda desde las 22.00 horas hasta las 05.00 horas del día siguiente en todo el territorio, con fronteras, colegios, universidades y todos los comercios no esenciales cerrados.
El Gobierno ha optado por un modelo de “cuarentenas selectivas o estratégicas” con restricciones semanales que se imponen y se levantan en cada comuna (barrio) o en cada ciudad en función de los datos epidemiológicos de contagios.
