Un día después de asumir el cargo, preparan ‘impeachment’ contra Biden
“El presidente Joe Biden no es apto para ocupar el cargo”, aseveró la congresista republicana, Marjorie Taylor Greene. “Su patrón de abuso de poder es extenso e inquietante”, añadió.
La congresista republicana Marjorie Taylor Greene presentó el jueves 21 de enero una serie de documentos con los cuales pretende comenzar un juicio político contra el presidente de Estados Unidos, Joe Biden, un día después de que haber sido investido.
“El presidente Joe Biden no es apto para ocupar el cargo. Su patrón de abuso de poder como vicepresidente durante la Administración de Barack Obama es extenso e inquietante”, afirmó la controvertida representante por el estado de Georgia, citada por el medio local The Hill.
Greene es una de las personas que más respalda al exmandatario estadounidense Donald Trump y también es reconocida por utilizar sus cuentas en redes sociales para expresar opiniones racistas y en apoyo a teorías de conspiración del movimiento QAnon.
“El presidente Biden ha demostrado que hará todo lo que sea necesario para rescatar a su hijo, Hunter, y llenar los bolsillos de su familia con efectivo de compañías energéticas extranjeras corruptas”, aseguró la republicana en un comunicado.
Greene insistió en las críticas de Trump, que en los últimos años atacó a Biden y su hijo por el supuesto delito de tráfico de influencias en el que habría incurrido Hunter durante la vicepresidencia de su padre para lograr tratos con empresas energéticas extranjeras.
Hasta ahora no han trascendido los artículos por los cuales el demócrata sería denunciado formalmente. “Acabo de presentar artículos de acusación contra el presidente Joe Biden, veremos cómo va esto”, se limitó a decir Greene en Twitter.
Sistemáticamente, Biden ha negado las acusaciones y el año pasado fue sobreseído tras una investigación del Senado, que estaba bajo control del Partido Republicano. En esta ocasión los demócratas tienen la misma cantidad de votos tras las recientes elecciones en Georgia.
Biden, quien ha tomado varias acciones para contener la pandemia, hasta ahora no se ha referido a este intento de ‘impeachment’ en su contra; mientras los demócratas tramitan el mismo procedimiento en la Cámara de Representantes contra Trump.
