TikTok ya no tendrá que cerrar en Estados Unidos
Estados Unidos se retracta y suspende prohibición de Donald Trump a TikTok.
Tras la inminente salida de Donald Trump del Gobierno de Estados Unidos, los problemas con las empresas chinas podrían haber llegado a su fin, siendo Huawei la más beneficiada. Sin embargo, los dueños de TikTok también estarán tranquilos, ya que ahora la permanencia de la aplicación en el país norteamericano no peligra.
Según ha publicado The Wall Street Journal, el Departamento de Comercio de EE. UU. confirmó el último jueves 12 de noviembre que ya no cerrará TikTok, por lo que la app china puede respirar tranquila.
La decisión llega tras el dictamen de octubre de 2020 de la jueza Wendy Beetlestone, del Tribunal Federal de Philadelphia, quien afirmó que las preocupaciones de Estados Unidos sobre los riesgos de seguridad nacional solo eran teóricos. “Las propias descripciones del Gobierno de la amenaza a la seguridad nacional publicadas por la aplicación TikTok están redactadas en forma hipotética”, escribió la magistrada.
Los influencers que impidieron el cierre de TikTok
El dictamen de la jueza Beetlestone respondió a una demanda del creador de contenido cómico Douglas Marland, la gurú de la moda Cosette Rinab y el músico Alex Chambers, considerados tres pesos pesados de la plataforma.
TikTok a la espera de otra decisión judicial.
Un caso separado, presentado por la propia red social TikTok, sigue pendiente en otro tribunal de Washington, el cual impidió el mes pasado que el Gobierno estadounidense aplicara la prohibición de nuevas descargas de la aplicación.
La empresa matriz de TikTok, la china ByteDance, tenía hasta el jueves para reestructurar la propiedad de la aplicación en Estados Unidos, pero presentó una petición ante un tribunal de Washington esta semana pidiendo un nuevo plazo.
