Regalan vacunas contra Covid para no desperdiciarlas; se descompuso el refrigerador
En plena madrugada el Hospital dio un aviso de emergencia en redes sociales, se descompuso el refrigerador donde guardaban las vacunas y necesitaban vacunar a «quien sea» con tal de no desperdiciarla
Seattle.- Si crees que lo habías visto todo en esta pandemia, lo que leerás a continuación te hará ver que no es así. La historia difícil de creer se dio en Seattle, Washington, Estados Unidos, en donde un hospital regaló a media noche dosis de la vacuna contra el Covid-19.
¿Es complicado imaginar la razón? Pues uno de los freezers (refrigeradores) que almacenaba los fármacos se descompuso, dejándoles un corto lapso de tiempo para usarlos antes de que se estropearan.
Ante la terrible noticia, los encargados del centro médico tomaron la decisión de convocar a los ciudadanos de la zona mediante las redes sociales sin importar que fueran altas horas de la noche. La gente respondió de inmediato y comenzó a llegar en pijama.
Información de medios locales explica que fueron alrededor de 1,650 dosis de la vacuna contra el Covid-19 de Moderna las que repartieron entre dos centros de vacunación, pues podían echarse a perder. En los dos lugares se aglomeró una gran cantidad de gente con esperanza de inmunizarse.
Según la periodista de King 5 News, Amy Moreno, «150 voluntarios se organizaron fugazmente para administrar las 880 dosis de vacuna contra el Covid-19 y que no se desperdiciaran”, esto, en el campus de la Universidad de Seattle.
El evento, primero en su tipo, recuerda a lo sucedido en Oregon, en Estados Unidos, apenas un día antes, cuando trabajadores de salud aplicaron el antídoto contra el virus Sars Cov 2 a los automovilistas que circulaban por el Condado de Josephine (JCPH).
Una fuerte tormenta de nieve hizo que quedaran varados, por lo cual, para evitar que se perdieran, comenzaron a realizar la aplicación a quienes esperaban en una larga fila.
