Reapareció después de DOS SIGLOS el Águila de cola blanca, una especie que se creía extinta

Durante la emergencia sanitaria por el coronavirus, varios animales aprovecharon el confinamiento de los seres humanos para reaparecer en lugares de los que habían “desaparecido”.
Ahora, habitantes de Inglaterra quedaron sorprendidos después de presenciar el avistamiento de un águila de cola blanca. De acuerdo con medios locales, la especie se creía extinta en ese país porque la última vez que fue vista, según los registros, databa de hace más de dos siglos.
Algunos ejemplares fueron traídos de Escocia para su reinserción. Se introdujeron cuatro aves en la Isla de Wight en agosto como parte de un programa de introducción de más ejemplares que durará cinco años. Cada una de esas águilas lleva un rastreador, por lo cual los investigadores pueden saber dónde se encuentran y qué distancia realizan por día.
El proyecto verá al menos seis aves liberadas anualmente, pero no se espera que se reproduzcan hasta 2024.
