Princesa de Dubai pide auxilio tras ser secuestrada por su familia
La princesa Latifa, hija de Mohamed Bin Rached Al Maktoum, dijo en un video que teme por su vida. La mujer ya había intentado escapar en el 2018.
La princesa Latifa, hija del emir de Dubai que había intentado escapar del país en 2018, pidió auxilio a través de varios videos difundido por la BBC. Aseguró que es una “rehen” de su familia y teme por su vida.
“Estoy en una mansión. Estoy secuestrada y esta mansión se convirtió en prisión”, confesó la princesa de 35 años en un video grabado con un teléfono móvil desde el baño, porque —según dijo— “es la única habitación con una puerta que puede cerrar”.
“Todas las ventanas están cerradas, hay cinco policías en el exterior y dos mujeres policías en el interior”, añadió la hija de Mohamed Bin Rached Al Maktoum.
“Me preocupo todos los días por mi seguridad y por mi vida. La policía me dijo que estaré en prisión toda mi vida y que nunca volveré a ver el sol”, prosiguió.
Estos videos fueron transmitidos el martes en el programa Panorama de la BBC, que los obtuvo de amigos cercanos a la princesa.
Contactadas por la AFP, las autoridades de Dubai no reaccionaron ante lo sucedido.
En 2018, Latifa Al Maktoum anunció, en un video difundido en Youtube, que quería huir de su país.
Al borde de las lágrimas, dijo que había sido “torturada” y “encarcelada durante tres años” por su padre después de un primer intento de fuga cuando era una adolescente, en 2002.
Este video fue publicado después del fracaso de ese intento, a bordo de un velero que había sido apresado por la marina india.
Desde entonces, la princesa no se manifestó públicamente. Según la BBC, ella explicó en los clips que fue drogada en el velero y no despertó hasta que regresó a Dubai, donde está retenida.
