Papa Francisco: «Los humanos hemos pecado contra la Tierra al explotar sus recursos»
El sumo pontífice señala que solo juntos y haciéndose cargo de los más débiles se puede «vencer los desafíos globales»
El papa Francisco instó este miércoles al mundo a trabajar juntos para superar la pandemia de coronavirus y los demás desafíos globales a los que enfrenta la humanidad, durante una audiencia general en ocasión del 50.º Día Internacional de la Madre Tierra.
«Como la trágica pandemia de coronavirus nos está demostrando, solo juntos y haciéndonos cargo de los más débiles podemos vencer los desafíos globales», señaló el sumo pontífice.
«Hemos pecado contra la Tierra, contra nuestro prójimo y, en fin, contra el Creador», declaró el papa, advirtiendo que la respuesta del planeta será «muy contundente» si la humanidad no toma acciones para detener su deterioro.
«Necesitamos una nueva forma de ver nuestra casa común. […] La Tierra no es un depósito de recursos para ser explotados», recordó.
