Papa Francisco condena la guerra ‘absurda y cruel’ en Ucrania, la cual completa un año
‘¿Puede el Señor perdonar tantos crímenes y violencia?’, se preguntó el papa Francisco, quien tenía la intención de visitar Kiev y Moscú, un proyecto que de momento no se ha materializado.
El papa Francisco condenó este miércoles la guerra «absurda y cruel» en Ucrania, al lanzar un nuevo llamamiento por la paz a dos días de que se cumpla un año de iniciada la invasión rusa a ese país de Europa Oriental.
«Un año de guerra absurda y cruel, un triste aniversario», dijo el pontífice argentino, tras su audiencia general que se celebra los miércoles en el Vaticano.
«Hago un llamamiento a todos aquellos que tienen autoridad sobre las naciones para que se comprometan concretamente a poner fin al conflicto, alcanzar un alto el fuego e iniciar negociaciones de paz», añadió el papa, de 86 años.
«El balance de muertos, heridos, refugiados, daños económicos y sociales habla por sí solo», recalcó Jorge Bergoglio, que en el último año ha hecho repetidos llamamientos a la paz, al tiempo que instó mantener un diálogo con Moscú.
«¿Puede el Señor perdonar tantos crímenes y violencia? (…) Permanezcamos junto al martirizado pueblo ucraniano, que sigue sufriendo, y preguntémonos si se ha hecho todo lo posible para detener la guerra», agregó el papa Francisco.
A pesar de las propuestas de mediación, la diplomacia de la Santa Sede no ha logrado imponerse en el conflicto de Ucrania.
El propio papa Francisco tenía la intención de visitar Kiev y Moscú, un proyecto que de momento no se ha materializado.
