OMS dice que no habría vacuna contra el coronavirus este año
María Neira, directora del Departamento de Salud Pública y de Ambiente en la OMS, afirmó que no alcanzará el tiempo para desarrollar una vacuna para 2020. “Lo veo francamente difícil”, aseguró.
La directora del Departamento de Salud Pública y de Ambiente en la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), María Neira, descartó que la vacuna contra el nuevo coronavirus esté lista para este 2020. Agregó que una fecha tentativa es a inicios de 2021.
Según dijo Neira, ve muy difícil que se desarrolle la vacuna este año, ya que solo quedan seis meses para terminarlo y no va a dar tiempo de desarrollarla. No obstante, aseguró que “habrá buenas noticias” sobre los tratamientos.
Neira pidió a las personas ser “realistas” con respecto al tema y añadió que «hay muchos procesos que hay que seguir para asegurarse de cuando la vacuna salga al mercado sea segura”.
En cuanto a los tratamientos que se están utilizando en la actualidad y que están siendo valorados por la OMS, Neira indicó que en pocas semanas se tendrán “buenas noticias”.
