El nuevo coronavirus no entiende de condición social, religión o raza. La vida de Arbina Khatoon colapsó tras un largo viaje en tren, precisamente cuando partía de Gujarat con destino a su tierra natal Katihar, India.
La mujer de 35 falleció en la estación del metro de Muzaffarpur, luego de un trayecto de 1,800 kilómetros en el que se sortea la vida de las personas debido a las pésimas condiciones en la que se viaja, según informaron medios internacionales.
Testigos que compartieron con la madre el interminable trayecto entre Gujarat y Muzaffarpur, sin embargo, insistieron en que no comieron ni bebieron agua durante todo el trayecto y que eso provocó el colapso en cuanto arribaron a su destino, según informaron medios locales y la cadena de noticias Al Jazeera.
Las nueve muertes ponen en la palestra la difícil situación de los migrantes indios durante la pandemia por la COVID-19, durante la cual millones perdieron sus empleos y luchan por regresar como sea a sus hogares bajo el cierre casi absoluto del país.

Después de hacer virales este fuerte video, usuarios de Twitter preguntan qué pasó con los niños que vieron a la mujer muerta en la estación del tren.
«¿Sabemos lo que le pasó con el niño?», preguntó una usuaria en la red social. Otro, por su parte, criticó el Gobierno de India por la tardía reacción frente a las medidas contra la COVID-19: «Esto es desgarrador. India ha expuesto su vacío de ser Nación con Gobierno Responsable. El gobierno que tardó más de 40 días en decidir si el tren debería funcionar para los migrantes pobres que mueren en la carretera y aún no puede asegurarse de que los trenes lleguen a destino no tiene derecho a gobernar».
