Niña de 9 años con signos de agresión sexual fue asfixiada y su cuerpo abandonado en la calle
Indignación en Bolivia y en el mundo por terrible crimen a una niña de solo 9 años
El pasado domingo, el cuerpo de Esther, una niña boliviana de solo nueve años, apareció inerte en la calle de El Alto, la segunda ciudad de Bolivia con mayor índices de violencia en contra de niños y niñas. La Policía confirmó, tras levantar el cadáver, que la niña murió asfixiada y que tenía signos de agresiones sexuales pasadas.
El martes, su madre y vecinos la enterraron y pidieron justicia, mientras que la Fiscalía de La Paz anunció la detención de un hombre de 42 años como presunto autor del crimen, además de otras tres personas que se cree estuvieron involucradas en los hechos.
Las cuatro vivían en una habitación sin baño, alquilada en un complejo de viviendas que compartían con otras familias de bajos recursos. De acuerdo con la Fiscalía, el vecino es el principal sospechoso de haber cometido el crimen, puesto que fue visto en la habitación de la niña junto con un taxista.
“Esther simboliza y representa a muchas niñas en Bolivia que viven en la pobreza y cuyas madres tienen que salir a trabajar”, dijo la directora de la Red Ciudadana contra el Infanticidio y el Abuso Sexual, Jessica Echevarría. “El ver ese cuerpecito abandonado, vejado, ha hecho que todo un país despierte porque la sociedad venía siendo muy indiferente con la situación de violencia y maltrato hacia los niños”, agregó y especificó que este organismo ha registrado 400 casos de violaciones contra niños y 12 605 casos de violencia intrafamiliar, en los cuales las víctimas son menores de edad.
El confinamiento impuesto por la COVID-19 pone a los niños en una complicada situación, puesto que se ven encerrados muchas veces con sus agresores y alejados de las redes de apoyo. “Los casos de violencia contra la niñez y violencia sexual se multiplican más rápido que los contagios de coronavirus”, indica Pérez al diario El País.
