Netflix, la famosa plataforma de películas y series en streaming, vuelve a generar noticia. Sin embargo, esta vez no fue por lanzar una exitosa producción como ‘One Piece’, sino porque dejará de ser compatible con varios dispositivos demasiado antiguos. Es decir, si posees un smart TV que compraste hace muchos años, es muy probable que la aplicación oficial deje de funcionar. ¿Qué equipos son los elegidos? Aquí te los diremos.
Todo comenzó en Reddit, foro en el que un grupo de usuarios comenzó a alertar que sus televisores inteligentes, reproductores, dispositivos de streaming, incluso consolas de videojuegos, están mostrando una advertencia de que Netflix dejará de ser compatible. Todos estos equipos tienen algo en común: son aparatos que llegaron al mercado hace 10 años o más y que ya no tienen soporte de sus fabricantes.
Hasta el momento, Netflix no ha publicado ningún comunicado sobre el tema, tampoco ha detallado cuáles serían los dispositivos que dejarán de ser compatibles con su plataforma. Según detalla AndroidPhoria, un portal especializado en tecnología, la medida ha afectado a varios televisores antiguos de las marcas Sony, Toshiba y Samsung, también a muchos reproductores Blu-ray y hasta a la recordada PlayStation Vita.
De acuerdo a la publicación, esta no es la primera vez que Netflix se vuelve incompatible en ciertos dispositivos. En 2019, el servicio de streaming más popular del mundo dejó de brindar soporte a varios equipos, entre los que se encontraban televisores inteligentes de las marcas Samsung y Vizio, así como ciertos dispositivos Roku.
