Nació el primer koala en un parque de Australia tras los devastadores incendios
Tras miles de muertes por los incendios forestales, nació el primer koala en Australia.
El parque Australian Reptile Park, situado en Somersby, Australia, recibió a su primera cría de koala desde la devastadora temporada de incendios forestales que afectó a algunas regiones del país entre 2019 y este año.
Este koala nació en cautiverio en este santuario de animales -dedicado sobre todo a reptiles pero también a mamíferos como canguros o demonios de Tasmania- de Nueva Gales del Sur, después de que en los incendios forestales murieran miles de ejemplares de esta especie.
«Los koalas son icónicos y, aunque los nuestros están en cautiverio, nos gusta pensar que estamos ayudando a la población diezmada», declaró para News Corp. Ash nació en enero, pero los ‘joey’, nombre con el que se conoce a estas crías, permanecen en la bolsa de su madre durante 6 meses.
