Murió pastor de Camerún que decía “curar” a pacientes de coronavirus con sus manos
Los seguidores de Frankline Ndifor, de 39 años, lo consideraban un “profeta” y oraron por su resurrección a lo largo del fin de semana.
Un pastor evangélico de Camerún que imponía sus manos sobre pacientes que dieron positivo al nuevo coronavirus o eran sospechosos de tenerlo para “curarlos”, murió a causa de la enfermedad, el sábado 16. Sus seguidores se opusieron a que su cuerpo fuese enterrado y oraban por su resurrección.
Frankline Ndifor, de 39 años, era el fundador de la Iglesia Kingship International Ministries, a la cual acudían decenas de fieles, sobre quienes colocaba sus manos y rezaba por su recuperación, según reporta el canal Voice of America. Aunque decía “curar” a los feligreses, el religioso terminó contrayendo el coronavirus.
Los seguidores de Ndifor, quienes lo consideraban un “profeta”, impidieron el ingreso de los médicos a su casa el sábado por la mañana, pues aseguraban que no podía ser enterrado “porque estaba en un retiro espiritual con Dios”. Ellos rezaron por su resurrección a lo largo del fin de semana.
El religioso, quien también fue candidato a la presidencia de Camerún en 2018, apareció en público por última vez el 20 de abril, repartiendo mascarillas.
Camerún registra hasta ahora 3.529 infectados y 140 fallecidos por el nuevo coronavirus. También en Chile falleció por COVID-19 un pastor evangélico que hizo caso omiso a las indicaciones sanitarias y se reunió con otros religiosos.
