Mujer pierde la vida cuando intentaba retirar su auto de un estacionamiento

Esta frase del escritor colombiano Gabriel García Márquez nos ayuda a contextualizar mejor esta triste historia ocurrida en Estados Unidos y que conmocionó a todo el mundo. Era la mañana del último martes cuando el vigilante de un estacionamiento de la ciudad de Columbus, en Ohio, se percató que un auto estaba detenido en la salida. La persona en el asiento del conductor permanecía sin moverse.
Al acercarse notó que se trataba de una mujer cuya cabeza se encontraba atrapada entre su coche y la máquina de pago. De inmediato, el guardia dio aviso a los servicios de emergencia. Lamentablemente, ya era muy tarde.
¿CÓMO PASÓ?
La Policía local revisó los videos de las cámaras de seguridad del estacionamiento y vio cómo fue que sucedió la tragedia. Cabe señalar que este clip no ha sido filtrado al público por respeto a la víctima, identificada como Victoria Strauss (23).
La situación se dio poco antes de la medianoche, cuando la joven llegó a la salida del parking. Al sacar su tarjeta de crédito para hacer el pago, esta se le cae.
De una forma distraída, ella se agachó a recogerla, pisando por error el acelerador. Fue así que su cabeza quedó atrapada entre su vehículo y la máquina de cobro. Su muerte fue, según The Sun, fue inmediata.
Strauss nació en Florida y se encontraba en Ohio estudiando un posgrado en Trabajo Social.
