Mujer perdió a su esposo y vio agonizar a su hijo, en busca del sueño americano
‘Queríamos cumplir nuestros sueños de tener nuestra casita y que nuestro hijo saliera adelante; por eso salimos los tres’, contó la mujer entre lágrimas.
El tan ansiado sueño americano continúa cobrando vidas de ciudadanos latinos que desean mejorar su calidad de vida en Estados Unidos, un país supuestamente lleno de oportunidades. Para lograrlo, los migrantes ilegales tienen que atravesar la frontera con México. Un informe de TV Azteca cuenta la historia de una familia migrante ecuatoriana cuya travesía terminó en tragedia.
Una familia conformada por mamá, papá y su hijo de 5 años salió del Ecuador y cruzó siete países hasta llegar al río Bravo, la frontera entre México y Estados Unidos. “Queríamos cumplir nuestros sueños de tener nuestra casita y que nuestro hijo saliera adelante; por eso salimos los tres”, sostuvo la mujer identificada como Marisol.
Llegando al Puente I, en Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Patricio tomó a su esposa Marisol de la mano y a su hijo Yonathan lo cargó en sus hombros. Ninguno de los tres sabía nadar. “Él iba adelante. Me cogió de la mano y cruzábamos. Y, cuando él ya sintió profundo, él me jaló de la mano y empezamos a ahogarnos, y la mochila fue la que me flotó a mí”, contó Marisol Caguana.
Cuando Marisol se percató de que su esposo se hundía con su hijo en hombros, su primera reacción fue sujetar al pequeño del brazo, pero la fuerza del río Bravo comenzó a ahogarlo. Con mucha dificultad, lo arrastró a un islote de piedra e intentó revivirlo.
“Me di la vuelta y a mi hijo lo vi desangrándose, bien morenito. Le vi los ojitos ya blancos. La pielcita bien negra. Me desesperé mucho y llevé a mi hijo a una piedra, y le aplasté el pecho y le di respiración boca a boca”, añadió.
Totalmente empapados, madre e hijo estaban sufriendo de hipotermia a causa de los 2 grados de temperatura que hay en la zona. Por fortuna, llegó el grupo Beta y ambos fueron rescatados y llevados al hospital Salvador Chavarría, en Coahuila.
“Gracias a Dios al menos tengo a mi hijo; a mi hijo lo tengo con vida aquí. No lo pude salvar, porque se había hundido tan rápido. Estoy pasando totalmente una pesadilla, no sé qué voy a hacer. Solo pido que me ayuden a encontrar el cuerpo para poder regresar a Ecuador”, finalizó.
La mujer contó que se habían ido sin ningún tipo de recomendación o ayuda, y que solo se aventuraron tras ver un video de TikTok.
