Mujer encerró a su ‘nana’ en jaula de perro y le lanzó agua hirviendo

Una mujer fue condenada a 75 años de cárcel luego de encerrar y torturar a su «nana» lanzándole agua hirviendo en Texas, Estados Unidos.
En 2019, Alicia Calderón (37) contrató a Simone Valdez-Junkin – de entonces 24 años- para que limpiara su tráiler, fuera la niñera de sus hijos y cuidara a una anciana. A cambio de sus servicios, Valdez-Junkin podría vivir con ellos sin pagarles arriendo.
Además, le dejó de dar alimentos, por lo que Simone perdió la mitad de su peso, debilitándose hasta el punto en que ni siquiera cuidar a la anciana.
«Calderón engañó a la víctima para que viviera con ella y luego la controló con torturas impensables. Quemó gravemente a la víctima en los brazos, el pecho y la espalda, vertiendo sobre ella una olla de agua hirviendo”, detalló el fiscal del condado de Collin, Greg Willis.
Fue recién en febrero de 2022 que el caso salió a la luz, cuando la víctima logró contactarse con su padrastro por Facebook desde un celular que pidió prestado.
El hombre alertó a las autoridades, quienes al ingresar al trailer de Calderón encontraron a Valdez-Junkin tenía quemaduras en segundo y tercer grado, y le habían rapado la cabeza. Además, la anciana discapacitada estaba tan deteriorada que los policías inicialmente creyeron que estaba muerta.
Posteriormente, se descubrió que la acusada le robaba el dinero de la pensión y herencia de la mujer con discapacidades. La víctima pasó seis semanas hospitalizada y tuvo que ser sometida a varias operaciones para reconstruir la piel tras las quemaduras.
Fue recién durante la primera semana de octubre que Calderón fue sentenciada a 75 años de cárcel por sus crímenes.
