Muere en combate policía tico que viajó a Ucrania para luchar en guerra
El hombre era padre de un niño de cinco años.
El costarricense Roy Eduardo Rojas Espinoza, de 38 años, que se enlistó en el ejército de Ucrania para combatir contra Rusia falleció en un enfrentamiento.
Según indicó el medio CRHoy.com la información se dio a conocer este sábado 12 de agosto por medio de las redes sociales y fue confirmada por Ana Cristina Freer, madre del hijo del oficial quien se formó en la Fuerza Pública.
“Todavía estoy en shock, esperando que esta noticia no sea cierta, que fue un error y se confundieron”, agregó.
De acuerdo con Freer, Rojas perdió la vida mientras combatía ya que se encontraba en un lugar “muy peligroso”.
Por el momento, se desconoce cuándo se comenzará con el proceso para repatriar el cuerpo de Roy Eduardo a Costa Rica.
Roy Eduardo Rojas Espinoza era vecino de San Isidro de Heredia. Trabajó para la Fuerza Pública por 12 años, destacado en la Delegación de Heredia. Además, se desempeñó como Policía Municipal de Goicoechea antes de partir a Ucrania.
