Meteorito ilumina los cielos de Turquía: ¿A qué se debe su color?
Varias personas filmaron sorprendidos lo ocurrido.
El paso de un meteorito iluminó los cielos durante la noche de este sábado 2 de septiembre, cerca de las 20:10 hora local en el este de Turquía, en las provincias de Diyarbakir, Elazig, Bingöl, Tunceli y Erzurum en Anatolia oriental, unos mil kilómetros al este de Estambul.
Los inusuales colores del cielo iluminado con un color verde turquesa se diferenció de los que se típicos colores rojos o amarillos. Esto sorprendió a los habitantes de la zona, quienes dejaron sus registros en las distintas redes sociales, despertando la curiosidad de los millones de usuarios de internet.

¿A qué se debe el color verdoso del meteorito?
Sin duda, una de las cosas que más llamó la atención fueron los colores del cielo iluminado con el paso del meteorito. Según La Vanguardia, el color verdoso que se ve en los registros del paso del meteorito en Turquía, «se debe generalmente a la presencia de algunos minerales y elementos propios del meteorito. En particular, el color verde suele indicar la presencia de níquel».
