Mató a su esposo e hijastro, era el “crimen perfecto”, pero Google la delató
Karen Oviedo asesinó a su esposo e hijastro con líquido refrigerante y jugo de naranja.
Con las rodillas en el suelo y las manos en el estómago, Rolando Aquino seguía vomitando en uno de los pasillos de su casa. El dolor que había sentido durante la mañana de aquel domingo 7 de febrero era tan fuerte, que en un momento su organismo trató de protegerlo y cayó inconsciente después de haber trasbocado varias veces. A su lado, su esposa Karen Oviedo lo observaba curiosa mientras que llamaba una ambulancia.
Minutos después, cuando los paramédicos llegaron a socorrer al hombre de 35 años, la mujer les abrió tranquilamente con una sonrisa, mostrándoles donde estaba el cuerpo de su marido.
Rápidamente el personal médico lo trasladó a la Clínica Santa María de la ciudad de Mendoza, Argentina, lugar donde estaría internado por una intoxicación severa ocasionada por una sustancia extraña.
Dos días después, el martes 9 de febrero del 2021, el hombre falleció tras haber batallado contra aquello que lentamente lo hacía agonizar. El caso llegó rápidamente a las autoridades, quienes quedaron extrañados con el diagnóstico.
¿Una sustancia desconocida?, fue lo primero que se preguntaron antes de solicitar la autopsia que lo cambiaría todo.
Una “familia feliz”
En el barrio Minotto de Villa Nueva, Guaymallén, Argentina, todo el mundo conocía a la famosa familia formada por Karen, Rolando y el hijo pequeño de Rolando, Elías Aquino. Juntos vivían en una pequeña casa blanca que a su vez funcionaba como una tienda de barrio.
Según los testimonios recolectados por el medio local de Guaymallén “Mendoza Post”, la pareja era muy cariñosa entre sí y nunca se les vio peleando. No se tiene muy claro el cómo se conocieron y desde hace cuánto estaban juntos. Pero lo que sí recuerdan muy bien los habitantes de la zona es que habían contraído matrimonio en noviembre del 2020 después de un trágico suceso ocurrido en el 2019.
Resulta que el 12 de julio de 2019, en el Hospital Pediátrico Humberto Notti, falleció el niño de nueve años Elías Aquino, quien era hijo de Rolando y de una expareja que tuvo.
La Fiscalía argumentó que, a pesar de que su muerte fue causada por una extraña falla en sus sistemas y una trombosis cerebral, resultaba raro pensar que un niño tan sano y sin antecedentes médicos pudiese haber muerto súbitamente de esa manera.
Además, la madre del menor argumentó en su momento que cuando había salido de casa para estar con su padre y su pareja, el pequeño no presentaba ningún síntoma relacionado.
Años después, esto precisamente fue lo que encendió las alarmas de los investigadores después de que Rolando Aquino falleciera de manera inesperada por una supuesta intoxicación. Como el caso era tan extraño, la policía de la región solicitó una autopsia con el fin de averiguar qué era aquella sustancia desconocida que había acabado con la vida del hombre.
Cuando el informe llegó, más de uno se quedó boquiabierto. El análisis químico decía que en su organismo había etilenglicol, una sustancia que comúnmente se encuentra como refrigerante líquido para motores y es potencialmente nociva para la salud.
De hecho, según la Agencia para Sustancias Tóxicas y Registro de Enfermedades de España, esta sustancia provoca daños en el hígado y corazón debido a que al entrar al cuerpo se cristaliza y a su vez causa un desbalance químico en el cuerpo, alterando así el sistema nervioso.
Fue precisamente así como murió Elías y su padre, quienes fueron envenenados con este líquido sin darse cuenta.
La situación de por sí ya sonaba muy extraña. ¿Cómo un líquido tan tóxico y peligroso pudo haber acabado en el organismo de aquel hombre? La primera sospechosa fue la esposa.
Aunque al principio no la relacionaron directamente con el caso de Elías, el hecho de que dos familiares cercanos de ella hubiesen muerto en extrañas circunstancias mientras estaban hospitalizados ponía en duda muchas cosas.
