Más de 100 nicaragüenses refugiados en Costa Rica serán reasentados en España con empleo fijo
Varias familias fueron preseleccionadas para reasentarse en España con contratos de trabajo en el sector de las energías renovables.
Más de un centenar de nicaragüenses refugiados en Costa Rica tendrán la oportunidad de reasentarse en Valladolid, una ciudad en el noreste de España, como parte de un proyecto piloto para una migración laboral ordenada y segura, informó el Ministerio de Inclusión, Seguridad Social y Migraciones de España.
El proyecto fue originado a partir de un acuerdo del Consejo de Ministros en mayo pasado, donde se aprobó la expansión del Programa Nacional de Reasentamiento de Refugiados en España y se abrió la posibilidad de reasentar a personas que tuvieran ofertas de empleo de compañías españolas.
Desde 2018, España ha sido un destino para cientos de migrantes nicaragüenses que han huido del desempleo, la pobreza y la represión policial a raíz de la crisis sociopolítica en Nicaragua bajo la dictadura de Daniel Ortega y Rosario Murillo.
Marta Youth, subsecretaria de Estado Interina de la Oficina de Población, Refugiados y Migración de Estados Unidos, mencionó en julio pasado que hasta ese momento, la Oficina de Movilidad Segura había registrado a más de 250 personas para el programa de Admisión de Refugiados de los EE. UU. y alrededor de 200 personas habían sido referidas al Reasentamiento en España.
“Todos los contratos son en el sector de las energías renovables, en la provincia de Valladolid, específicamente en la zona de Navabuena”, detalló el Ministerio.
Estas familias fueron seleccionadas en colaboración con el Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para Refugiados (Acnur) y la Organización Internacional de las Migraciones (OIM), a través de sus oficinas en Costa Rica.
