La NASA cancela el lanzamiento de la nave tripulada Crew Dragon de SpaceX
El despegue de la nave tripulada Crew Dragon fue suspendido por mal tiempo. Este sábado se realizaría el lanzamiento.
El lanzamiento de Crew Dragon a la Estación Espacial Internacional (EEI) se pospuso debido a las condiciones climáticas en Florida (Estados Unidos).
La operación conjunta entre la NASA y SpaceX tenía programado despegar a las 3:33 p.m. y fue interrumpida 16 minutos antes con los astronautas Douglas Hurley y Robert Behnken ya en la cápsula Dragon.
Los astronautas permanecerán en la cápsula hasta que se cumplan los protocolos establecidos para el ‘dump’ o aplazamiento de una misión.
Crew Dragon se reanudará el sábado 30 de mayo con una hora de despegue programada para las 1:22 p.m. (hora Costa Rica).
De haber despegado, la Crew Dragon debía abandonar las instalaciones del complejo de lanzamiento 39A, en Florida y dirigirse a la atmósfera, donde se desprendería del cohete Falcon 9 que le iba a servir de impulso desde la tierra. Se esperaba que en un plazo de 24 horas, la nave llegase a la Estación Espacial Internacional (EEI).
Según las estimaciones hechas por los equipos de SpaceX y la NASA, la Crew Dragon estaría en posición de acoplarse de manera autónoma. Aun así, los pilotos de la operación tienen como tarea supervisar el proceso y tomar el control de ser necesario.
‘’Una vez en órbita, la tripulación y el control de la misión SpaceX verificarán que la nave espacial esté funcionando según lo previsto, probando el sistema de control ambiental, las pantallas, los propulsores de maniobra, entre otras cosas’’, indicó la Nasa en un comunicado.
La alianza entre la NASA y SpaceX, firmada durante el gobierno de Barack Obama, le permitirá a la agencia norteamericana poner fin a la dependencia de los cohetes rusos que les permitían llegar a la Estación Espacial Internacional.
