La insólita historia de una mujer que dio a luz a cada uno de sus mellizos con 2 días de diferencia
En 2019, en Reino Unido, una mamá primeriza sorprendió al alumbrar a sus 2 hijos en la misma semana, pero en distintos días: jueves y sábado.
Era el 2019, cuando Joanne Reilly, una oficial de 35 años, se preparaba para la llegada de sus dos primeros hijos, unos mellizos, en Manchester, Reino Unido. Sin embargo, lo que fue un embarazo sin ningún tipo de complicaciones se volvió en una anecdótica e insólita historia, luego de que dio a luz a sus bebés con dos días de diferencia: uno, un jueves; y el otro, un sábado.
En entrevista con la agencia Caters, Reilly contó que, en la semana 23 de gestación, un examen de rutina le indicó que todo iba bien con su embarazo. No obstante, una semana después, en enero de 2019, tuvo que ir de emergencia al hospital St. Mary’s y, algunas horas más tarde, entró en trabajo de parto.
Preocupada por el estado de su otro bebé, Reilly estaba decidida a pujar, pero no pasaba nada. Ante dicha situación, los médicos le aconsejaron que mantuviera la calma y tomara reposo, ya que su otro hijo se mantenía aún en su propio saco amniótico, por lo que su vida no corría riesgo. Esto es conocido como un parto en diferido, método empleado excepcionalmente por médicos con el fin de que el feto concluya con su tiempo de gestación.
A pesar de las recomendaciones de los doctores, no fue necesario esperar mucho al otro mellizo, puesto que, dos días después, el 12 de enero a las 10.39 a. m., nació Oscar sin ningún tipo de problemas.
Los bebés Reilly pudieron compartir una cuna hasta los tres meses de nacidos, periodo en el que mostraron una buena recuperación. Ahora, tres años después, los mellizos lucen saludables y ya han tenido su primer día de escuela, momento que fue compartido por Joanne a través de la cuenta de Instagram que tienen.
