Joven quiso donar plasma para pacientes con coronavirus y lo rechazaron por ser gay
Clínica privada de Buenos Aires, Argentina, generó polémica al rechazar el plasma de joven por su orientación sexual y el Ministerio de Salud salió a responder.
En medio de la crisis por el coronavirus, el plasma de los pacientes recuperados viene siendo muy valorado para tratar a los que todavía luchan contra la nueva enfermedad; sin embargo, una clínica en Buenos Aires, Argentina, desató controversia al rechazar la donación de un joven por ser homosexual.
Ante ello, el Ministerio de Salud, encabezado por Daniel Gollan, señaló que la identidad de género u orientación sexual no es un impedimento para la donación de sangre o plasma, según precisa la normativa vigente.
Pese a las excusas, el Instituto Provincial de Hemoterapia informó que “se rechaza cualquier discriminación o exclusión por razones de orientación sexual e identidad de género autopercibida que pueda ocurrir en el proceso de donación de sangre”.
“Cualquiera sea el género del donante, las normas técnicas y administrativas refieren que no deben donar las personas que hayan estado expuestas a situaciones de riesgo de infecciones, como por ejemplo el no uso de preservativo o campo de látex en relaciones sexuales o el uso de drogas intravenosas”, agregaron.
