Irán ejecutará a un agente de la CIA involucrado en el asesinato de Soleimani
Un ciudadano iraní proporcionó información a los servicios de inteligencia de EE.UU. e Israel sobre el paradero del general que falleció durante un ataque el 3 de enero
Las autoridades del poder judicial de Irán han anunciado este martes que un agente de la CIA involucrado en el asesinato del alto comandante Qassem Soleimani será ejecutado pronto, informa Reuters.
Se trata de un ciudadano iraní que proporcionó información a los servicios de inteligencia de EE.UU. e Israel sobre el paradero del general que falleció durante un ataque el 3 de enero en Irak.
El general iraní falleció durante un ataque de misiles que tuvo lugar en la capital de Irak. Otra víctima del bombardeo fue el jefe de las Fuerzas de Movilización Popular (FMP) y comandante de la milicia Kataib Hezbolá (KH), Abu Mahdi al Muhandis.
El Pentágono afirmo que «el ataque tenía como objetivo disuadir futuros planes de ataque iraníes», y acusó a Soleimani de «desarrollar activamente planes para atacar a los diplomáticos y miembros del servicio estadounidenses en Irak y en toda la región».
El general Qassem Soleimani fue una figura clave en la dirección de las acciones militares de Irán en la región. Estaba al frente de los servicios de inteligencia iraníes y, gracias a sus numerosos méritos, gozaba de una gran popularidad entre los iraníes.
Varios expertos consideran que Soleimani fue la segunda persona más poderosa en Irán, tras el líder supremo, ayatolá Alí Hoseiní Jameneí y tenía hasta más influencia que el presidente Hasán Rohaní.
