Huracán Ian: “No hay tiempo para evacuar, busquen refugio y recen”, pide el gobernador de Florida
“Este va a ser uno de esos históricos huracanes, el impacto va a ser enorme”, alertó el gobernador de Florida. Ron DeSantis, en rueda de prensa previa a la llegada del centro del ciclón.
El huracán Ian enfila hacia la costa oeste de Florida con vientos de 155 millas por hora (250 km/h), donde se prevé que toque tierra este miércoles y produzca efectos catastróficos, mientras las autoridades piden a la población de esa área a protegerse y “rezar”.
“Es hora de arremangarse, prepararse para esta tormenta. Esta es una tormenta poderosa que debe tratarse como lo haría si un tornado se acercara a su casa”, dijo el gobernador estatal, Ron DeSantis, quien alertó que a esas horas ya no es posible “evacuar con seguridad” y pidió orar por quienes hayan optado por no dejar sus casas. “Están asumiendo riegos al quedarse… No hay tiempo para evacuar, busquen refugio”, enfatizó.
“Ian causará marejadas ciclónicas catastróficas, vientos e inundaciones en la península de florida pronto”, alertó el Centro Nacional de Huracanes (NHC) de EE.UU. en su boletín de las 11 de la mañana (15.00 GMT).

“Este va a ser uno de esos históricos huracanes”, el “impacto va a ser enorme”, alertó el gobernador en rueda de prensa previa a la llegada del centro del huracán a Florida, y en la que recordó otros ciclones que en los últimos años han alcanzado este sureño estado y dejado muertes a su paso.
DeSantis pidió a la población ser cauta una vez el huracán haya pasado, dado que después aparecen nuevos riesgos, entre ellos los asociados a cables de alta tensión sueltos, que son causantes de muertes.
Ian, que se desplaza a 9 millas por hora (15 km/h) con dirección nornoreste, presenta vientos máximos sostenidos que casi lo equiparan con un huracán de categoría cinco, que empieza a partir de 157 millas por hora (252 km/h) y es la máxima en la escala Saffir-Simpson.
