Huracán Ian desaparece a 23 migrantes cubanos que intentaban cruzar a Florida
Cuatro inmigrantes cubanos lograron nadar hasta tierra firme tras el hundimiento de la embarcación.
Las autoridades de Estados Unidos buscan este miércoles a por lo menos 23 migrantes cubanos desaparecidos tras un naufragio en los Cayos de Florida en medio de la emergencia por el huracán Ian, mientras otros cuatro que viajaban en la misma embarcación alcanzaron tierra, según la Oficina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP).
Según un tuit de Walter N. Slosar, jefe de CBP en el Sector Miami, sus agentes acudieron hoy a la zona del desembarco, donde cuatro de los migrantes cubanos “nadaron hasta la orilla después de que su embarcación se hundiera debido a las inclemencias del tiempo”.
Otros 23 migrantes que viajaban en la misma embarcación se encuentran desaparecidos, informó Slosar.
El desembarco se produjo hoy en la zona de Stock Island, al este de Cayo Hueso, en momentos en que el huracán Ian de categoría 4 y con vientos de 250 km/h se acercaba a la coste oeste de Florida, donde se prevé toque tierra en el transcurso de este miércoles.
Este miércoles el poderoso huracán enfila hacia la costa oeste de Florida con vientos de 155 millas por hora (250 km/h), donde se prevé que toque tierra y produzca efectos catastróficos.
