El sindicato estadounidense de guionistas (Writers Guild of America) y los estudios de Holywood alcanzaron este domingo un acuerdo de principio que podría poner fin a una huelga de meses en el sector.
«Alcanzamos un acuerdo tentativo, lo cual quiere decir un acuerdo de principio en todos los puntos del trato, sujeto a una redacción contractual final», indica una carta que el sindicato envió a sus miembros y que la AFP pudo consultar.
¿Qué dice el acuerdo entre guionistas y Hollywood?
«Para ser claros, nadie regresará a trabajar hasta que sea específicamente autorizado por el sindicato. Estamos aún en huelga hasta entonces. Pero, desde hoy, suspendemos las protestas», indica.
Meses en huelga
Miles de guionistas de cine y televisión dejaron de trabajar a comienzos de mayo en demanda de mejor paga, mayores premios por crear shows exitosos, y protección contra la inteligencia artificial.
El Financial Times dio cuenta de un informe del instituto Milken que, a inicios de septiembre, estimaba el costo de la huelga para Hollywood en unos 5.000 millones de dólares.
Aunque la huelga de guionistas termine, no será necesariamente el caso de la paralización de actores, que continuará. No hay reportes de conversaciones entre los estudios y el sindicato SAG-AFTRA que los reúne.
