Una decisión escalofriante, con el dinero como motor. En Pensilvania, Estados Unidos, una mujer guardó el cadáver de su abuela en un congelador del sótano durante 15 años para seguir cobrando los beneficios de seguridad social de la muerta.
Cynthia Black, de 61 años, recibió más de $ 186.000 del gobierno federal de Estados Unidos en cheques a nombre de su abuela Glenora Delahay, quien Black dijo que murió en marzo de 2004 a los 97 años.
La Policía Estatal de Pensilvania encontró los restos en febrero de 2019 en una casa en Dillsburg, según un comunicado de prensa de la fuerza de seguridad. Tras investigar, identificaron a la difunta como Glenora Delahay, nacida el 3 de mayo de 1906.
La mujer puso los restos de Delahay en un congelador que estaba guardado en el sótano de la casa en Ardmore, dijo la Policía. Luego, en 2007, Black llevó el cuerpo de Ardmore a la casa en Dillsburg, utilizando los ingresos de la seguridad social de Delahay para pagar la hipoteca, según la declaración jurada.
Black fue detenida el miércoles, pero un informante de la Policía Estatal de Pensilvania dijo a CNN que Black que fue liberada bajo fianza no garantizada de 50.000 dólares.
