Entierran viva por error a una bebé recién nacida en la India
La niña nació prematuramente y los padres la tomaron por muerta al verla inmóvil
Vecinos de la localidad de Garbada (estado de Gujarat, India) encontraron el pasado sábado 23 a una recién nacida cubierta de tierra en un campo y la llevaron a un hospital. El personal médico la reconoció como la bebé prematura a la que habían asistido en un parto el día anterior e intentaron reanimarla, pero la pequeña falleció el domingo debido a un fallo multiorgánico, reporta The Indian Express.
La niña había nacido a los seis meses y medio de gestación y pesando sólo 850 gramos, por lo cual los doctores les dijeron a sus padres, de 20 y 22 años, que la llevaran a un hospital privado donde pudiera recibir cuidado neonatal urgente. «Era más como un feto», comentó el jefe del hospital de Garbada, R.K. Mehta.
Aunque la niña fue llevada a cuidados intensivos tras ser encontrada por los vecinos, el personal médico no pudo salvarle la vida. «En general, un bebé que pese tan poco y nazca antes del séptimo mes no sobrevive más de tres o cuatro días», explicó Mehta, y aseguró que la probabilidad de que sobreviviera, aún con tratamiento neonatal, era muy escasa, puesto que sus órganos no se habían desarrollado suficientemente.
