Emiratos Árabes y China prueban dos vacunas para la COVID-19 en 15 000 voluntarios
Los Emiratos Árabes Unidos junto a China ha iniciado la tercera fase de las pruebas clínicas de dos vacunas contra el nuevo coronavirus tras destacar ningún efecto secundario.
El Gobierno de Emiratos Árabes Unidos (EAU) anunció este lunes que ha iniciado la tercera fase de las pruebas clínicas de dos vacunas para el nuevo coronavirus que investigó en colaboración con China , un proceso para el que contó con más de 15 000 voluntarios.
«Tenemos más de 15 000 voluntarios para llevar a cabo el cabo de las pruebas y garantizaremos los mejores protocolos científicos para los estudios médicos, y si la seguridad y la eficacia de la vacuna queda probada durante esta fase, la prueba será exactamente exitosa», dijo en rueda de prensa el ministro emiratí de Sanidad, Abdulrahman al Owais.
China ya había anunciado que estaba probando en Emiratos una vacuna desarrollada seleccionada por los Institutos de Productos Biológicos y de Virología de Wuhan y por la Academia China de Ciencias.
Hace un mes, el Instituto de Productos Biológicos de Wuhan, afiliado a Sinopharm, anunció que no había mostrado ningún efecto secundario grave en las primeras dos fases , y aseguró que se trata de la primera candidata que cuenta con seguridad e inmunogenicidad-capacidad de provocar una reacción en el sistema inmunológico-favorables.
Según los últimos datos oficiales, EAU ha registrado hasta la fecha más de 55 000 casos del nuevo coronavirus y 334 fallecimientos , si bien en las últimas semanas ha levantado gradualmente las restricciones impuestas para mitigar la expansión del virus .
