Defensores de derechos humanos de Venezuela criticaron acuerdo migratorio con Estados Unidos
Desde Venezuela aseguran que la reanudación de los vuelos con deportados desde EE. UU. al país suramericano viola el principio de no devolución y criminaliza la migración.
Mientras Estados Unidos y Venezuela firmaban un acuerdo migratorio para reanudar los vuelos de deportación de los ciudadanos latinoamericanos, defensores de derechos humanos señalan a Joe Biden de violación del principio de no devolución y de criminalizar el éxodo.
La medida de deportación de venezolanos ha sido duramente criticada por defensores de derechos humanos, quienes afirman que la emergencia humanitaria en Venezuela persiste y que las personas que huyen requieren protección internacional.
Mediante un comunicado, el Gobierno de Venezuela informó que desplegará recursos a través del programa Vuelta a la Patria para dichos retornos.
Entretanto, autoridades de Estados Unidos afirmaron que ya es seguro regresar a Venezuela.
Los activistas consideran incoherente que esta medida se apruebe justo después de la ampliación del estatuto temporal de protección hacia la población venezolana. El éxodo de ese país ronda los 7,7 millones de personas y Estados Unidos se ha convertido en un destino predilecto de los migrantes.
Solo en septiembre de 2023, unos 50.000 migrantes cruzaron la frontera con Estados Unidos.
