Cuatro policías de Brasil le habrían vendido 16 toneladas de marihuana a grupo narcotraficante
Según la investigación, estos agentes en Brasil le hicieron seguimiento a un camión que llevaba el enorme alijo. Después de negociarlo con los criminales, escoltaron en vehículos oficiales la droga hasta una favela para que llegara a salvo.
Las detenciones, junto con la de un abogado acusado de intermediar la negociación, fueron realizadas por miembros de la Policía Federal, que venían investigando a los agentes corruptos desde hacía varias semanas.
Los investigadores establecieron que los cuatro agentes de la Policía Civil interceptaron un camión cargado con las 16 toneladas de marihuana en un retén en la carretera que comunica a las ciudades de Sao Paulo y Río de Janeiro.
Pero en lugar de incautar la droga e informar a sus superiores, los policías negociaron la venta del cargamento a miembros del Comando Vermelho (Comando Rojo), una de las mayores organizaciones criminales de Brasil, que controla el tráfico de drogas en la mayoría de las favelas de Río de Janeiro y que era la propietaria de la marihuana.
Tras el acuerdo de devolución que fue intermediado por el abogado detenido este jueves, los policías utilizaron vehículos de la institución para escoltar el cargamento hasta la favela de Manguinhos, en donde la entregaron a la organización criminal.
La Policía Civil de Río de Janeiro informó en un comunicado que abrió procesos administrativos y disciplinarios contra los agentes arrestados por no tolerar «ningún tipo de desvío de conducta o actividad ilícita».
El Tribunal Regional de Justicia de Río de Janeiro informó por su parte que el juez primero criminal de la ciudad de Resende, responsable por el caso, ya ordenó el encarcelamiento preventivo de los acusados por los crímenes de corrupción y tráfico de drogas.
Según el comunicado del tribunal, la Fiscalía descubrió que los mismos policías ya habían exigido un soborno de 500.000 reales (unos 100.000 dólares) por liberar a un miembro del Comando Vermelho que había sido arrestado pero que, como los narcotraficantes no pagaron la suma, realizaron una operación en la que le decomisaron 31 fusiles a esa organización, que vendieron a una banda rival.
«Cuando la sociedad busca en la policía el recurso para proteger sus bienes y su vida, y se depara con servidores corruptos, se concluye que la sociedad está en peligro ya que el orden público es violado por quien debería garantizarlo», según la sentencia del juez que ordenó los arrestos.
