China financiará a Latinoamérica el acceso a la vacuna contra la COVID-19
En la reunión participaron Perú, Chile, Argentina, Ecuador y otras naciones. El canciller chino Wang Yi aseguró que la vacuna desarrollada en su país será un bien público de acceso universal.
China concederá un crédito de mil millones de dólares a los países de América Latina y el Caribe para la compra de una vacuna contra la COVID-19, informó la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores de México.
El anuncio lo hizo el canciller chino Wang Yi en una videoconferencia con los cancilleres de América Latina y el Caribe que se centró en la cooperación contra la pandemia.
«En específico, el canciller chino destacó que la vacuna desarrollada en su país será un bien público de acceso universal y que su país destinará un préstamo de mil millones de dólares para apoyar el acceso de las naciones de la región al antídoto», señala el comunicado.
El presidente chino, Xi Jinping, anunció en mayo pasado durante la 73 sesión de la Asamblea Mundial de la Salud que su país proporcionará 2.000 millones de dólares en un plazo de dos años para apoyar la respuesta contra el COVID-19 y el desarrollo económico y social de los países afectados, especialmente aquellos en vías de desarrollo.
