Brigada de vacunación anti Covid queda atrapada en tormenta y aplica dosis a conductores
Para que no se desperdiciaran las vacunas, los brigadistas aplicaron la vacuna a todos los conductores varados.
Seis automovilistas tuvieron la fortuna de ser vacunados contra la Covid-19, luego de que se quedaron varados en una autopista en Oregón debido a la tormenta de nieve que se registró.
En la fila de automovilistas venía también un grupo de trabajadores de salud, quienes también se quedaron atorados en la autopista 199, cerca de Hayes Hill tras regresar de un evento de vacunación, del que sobraron seis dosis de la vacuna.
Al ver que no podían pasar por la nieve, los trabajadores de la salud conformaron una especie de “brigada de salud improvisada” y fueron auto por auto a ofrecer a los automovilistas las dosis que estaban por caducar.
Las dosis estaban destinadas para ser aplicadas a otras personas en Grants Pass, pero debido a que estaban por caducar, el personal de salud buscó a personas dispuestas a vacunas contra la Covid-19.
“Los miembros del personal del Departamento de Salud Pública del condado de Josephine caminaron coche por coche ofreciendo a los conductores varados la oportunidad de vacunarse”, publicó en redes sociales la institución de la que eran parte los trabajadores.
Entre los conductores que recibieron las vacunas, estaba un empleado de la oficina del alguacil del condado de Josephine, que también estaba varado en la autopista durante la tormenta invernal.
La forma en que los trabajadores de la salud de condado resolvieron para evitar que se desperdiciara una vacuna fue reconocido por el director de salud pública del condado.
