Brasil rompe récord de muertos por coronavirus en un día y fallecidos se acercan a los 1.000
Las 141 muertes del jueves superan las 133 reportadas el día anterior y representan un aumento del 18%, superior al crecimiento registrado del miércoles, que fue del 16%, según datos publicados por el Ministerio de Salud
Brasil registró el un récord en el número de muertos por coronavirus, con 141 fallecidos en las últimas 24 horas, por lo que el total de víctimas por la enfermedad suma 941 personas.
Las 141 muertes del jueves superan las 133 reportadas el día anterior y representan un aumento del 18%, superior al crecimiento registrado del miércoles, que fue del 16%, según datos publicados por el Ministerio de Salud.
En cuanto al número de casos, el jueves se registraron 1.930 para totalizar 17.857, un alza del 12%, por debajo del aumento del 19% registrado el miércoles, cuando se reportaron 2.210 casos.
América Latina y el Caribe superaron este viernes los 50.000 casos confirmados de COVID-19 de los que más de 2.000 fallecieron, según un balance de AFP elaborado con información de las autoridades nacionales y de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
El viernes a las 08H00 GMT, la región sumaba 50.589 contagios y 2.090 muertos. Brasil es el país de la región más afectado por la pandemia.
Le siguen Ecuador, con 4.965 contagios contabilizados y 272 fallecidos, México, con 3.441 contagios y 194 fallecidos, Perú (5.256 casos y 138 decesos), República Dominicana (2.349, 118) y Argentina, que en su último reporte diario contabilizó 79 muertes sobre un total de 1.894 casos.
Las muertes declaradas en el mundo por esta pandemia surgida en China a finales de 2019 llegaban el viernes a las 08H00 GMT a 94.986 y total de contagiados rozaba los 1,6 millones, oficialmente.
La cifra de casos registrados sólo refleja una parte de la totalidad de contagios debido a las políticas dispares de los diferentes países para realizar sus diagnósticos. Algunos, por ejemplo, sólo lo hacen con aquellas personas que necesitan una hospitalización.
