Borrador de Bohemian Rhapsody, escrito por Freddy Mercury, se venderá en 1,5 millones de dólares
Más de 1 500 objetos personales de Freddy Mercury serán subastados después de su cumpleaños el 5 de setiembre. Entre ellos, solo el piano del fallecido líder de Queen, costará 4 millones de dólares.
Freddy Mercury, uno de los más grandes vocalistas de la historia de la música, nació un 5 de setiembre y este martes cumpliría 77 años. El legado del líder de Queen se mantiene vigente hasta la fecha y la gente aún disfruta de su característico dominio escénico y potente voz que quedaron registrados en sus diversos conciertos.
Por tal motivo, Sotheby’s, principal casa de subastas y ventas en Londres (Inglaterra), anunció la venta de más de 1 500 objetos personales de Freddy Mercury obtenidos en su hogar donde vivía desde 1980 hasta 1991, año de su muerte.
Entre los objetos más valiosos que se subastarán están los manuscritos a puño y letra del mismo Freddy Mercury donde figuran canciones icónicas de Queen como: ‘Sheer Heart Attack’, ‘Don’t Stop Me now’, ‘We Are The Champions’, ‘Someboy To love’, ‘Killer Queen’ y el clásico ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
Precisamente, Sotheby’s puso a la venta la letra de Bohemian Rhapsody, escrita por Mercury, en un millón quinientos mil dólares siendo el segundo objeto más caro de la subasta después del piano que usaba el artista británico que costará alrededor de 4 millones de dólares.
Por ejemplo, las zapatillas Adidas que usó costarán 6 mil dólares, la corona y la capa con la que cerraba sus conciertos serán subastadas en 100 mil dólares mientras que un traje de lentejuelas que usó en los 70s será subastado en 75 mil dólares.
Del mismo modo, se pondrán a la venta otros artículos domésticos de la casa de Freddy Mercury como sus cuadros de Goya, Salvador Dalí y Pablo Picasso. Además de lentes de sol, un tarro de galletas, un kit de costura y una pequeña colección de figuras cerámicas de gatos.
“Freddie Mercury, una superestrella del rock de fama mundial, era, lejos de los escenarios, un coleccionista muy culto. A través de seis subastas, Sotheby’s refleja el caleidoscópico mundo de estilo y calidad de Freddie Mercury, que abarca arte, moda, instrumentos musicales, documentos personales, posesiones y fotografías, muebles y joyas, acumulados a lo largo de cincuenta años”, expresó Sotheby’s en un comunicado.
Cabe resaltar que el dinero recaudado en las subastas será destinado a la Fundación AIDS de Elton John y Mercury Phoenix Trust, organización fundada por Brian May, John Deacon y Roger Taylor para generar conciencia sobre el sida, enfermedad que acabó con la vida del icónico cantante.
