Beijing ordena el cierre de todas sus escuelas por rebrote “extremadamente grave” de coronavirus
La ciudad china anunció que los escolares y universitarios deberán retomar la educación en línea ante un nuevo rebrote del virus, que algunos advierten es provocada por una cepa más contagiosa.
Beijing cerrará nuevamente todas sus escuelas, colegios y universidades, cuyos alumnos retomarán sus cursos en línea, ante un rebrote de casos de coronavirus en la capital china, anunció este martes la alcaldía.
La ciudad desplegó una nueva campaña de pruebas de detección después de que se constataran 106 nuevos casos de infección por coronavirus en cinco días, en momentos en que el virus parecía haber sido prácticamente erradicado del país.
Asimismo, se suspenden todas las clases presenciales y se aconseja a los residentes trabajar desde el domicilio, mientras que las comunidades en áreas de riesgo “alto” -con casos confirmados o que hayan tenido contacto con el mercado en el que estalló el brote- quedarán selladas y no se permitirá que nadie salga de ellas.
La alcaldía de Beijing instó también a sus habitantes a evitar los viajes “no esenciales” fuera de la capital china.
También se cerrarán los mercados subterráneos, mientras que bibliotecas, museos y parques abrirán durante un tiempo limitado y con un aforo no superior al 30% de su capacidad.
Se suspenden asimismo los vuelos interprovinciales y quedan prohibidos los viajes en grupo transprovinciales, anunció Chen, quien explicó que “la situación en Beijing sigue siendo grave”.
Según el Gobierno municipal, el virus fue causado o bien por una transmisión entre humanos o bien por una “contaminación ambiental”.
Por último, la funcionaria aseguró que las nuevas medidas no implican que se detenga el trabajo o la producción, aunque aconsejó a los residentes que trabajen desde casa e incidió en que deben usar siempre mascarillas en lugares cerrados.
Las autoridades, que ayer se declararon “en guerra” contra este nuevo brote, informaron hoy de 27 nuevos casos en la ciudad el lunes, con lo que suman hasta ahora 106 positivos, una situación que el Gobierno municipal calificó de “extremadamente preocupante”.
La vuelta a la normalidad después de que la ciudad bajase el nivel de emergencia a principios de junio queda pues en suspenso, y la prioridad de las autoridades ahora es impedir que el virus se extienda o que llegue a otras ciudades.
Por otra parte, continúan las pruebas de ácido nucleico para todos aquellos que hayan tenido contacto con casos confirmados o que hayan visitado el mercado de Xinfadi, el principal de la metrópolis, cerrado desde el pasado sábado.
Además de las pruebas y las medidas de control y prevención, la ciudad ha intensificado la inspección de los mercados de productos frescos, cerdo congelado, ternera, cordero y productos avícolas, y se examinan otros negocios, incluidos supermercados y restaurantes, para garantizar que no circulan productos contaminados con el patógeno.
