Uber, la conocida plataforma de transporte, implementó a partir del jueves 23 de noviembre una nueva función que permite a los usuarios y conductores grabar audio durante los viajes realizados a través de la aplicación.

La compañía anunció esta actualización mediante un comunicado de prensa, detallando que las grabaciones podrán enviarse como informes al equipo de soporte en caso de que los usuarios o conductores consideren que han experimentado alguna situación incómoda durante el trayecto.
Esta característica, que ya se encuentra disponible en varias localidades de Estados Unidos, así como en México, Brasil, Perú y Colombia, busca fortalecer la confianza entre los usuarios y los conductores que utilizan la aplicación, según Manuela Bedoya, gerente de comunicaciones de Seguridad de Uber para la Región Andina, Centroamérica y el Caribe.
¿Cómo opera la Grabación de Audio?
- Consentimiento de grabación: Antes de iniciar un viaje, tanto usuarios como conductores recibirán una notificación en la aplicación si se emparejan con un usuario que tiene la función de grabación de audio habilitada. Esto les informará que el viaje podría ser grabado, y en caso de no desearlo, podrán cancelar la solicitud.
- Control del usuario y del conductor: La opción para iniciar la grabación de audio se encuentra en el Centro de Seguridad, visible en la aplicación durante todo el recorrido mediante un escudo azul. Esta función, junto con la opción de compartir el viaje y realizar una llamada rápida al 123, está disponible durante todo el trayecto. Es importante destacar que la grabación solo se activa cuando se habilita la función y no de forma predeterminada en cada viaje.
- Audio encriptado: Una vez realizada la grabación, el archivo de audio permanece encriptado en el dispositivo del usuario o conductor, impidiendo que sea escuchado por ninguna de las partes ni compartido con terceros. La grabación solo puede ser escuchada por el equipo de soporte de Uber si se envía como parte de un informe.
- Acciones: Al finalizar el viaje, tanto el usuario como el conductor tendrán la opción de informar un incidente y adjuntar el archivo de grabación de audio. Cuando el equipo de soporte recibe este informe, lo revisa y toma las medidas correspondientes de acuerdo con las políticas de uso de la aplicación. Estas medidas pueden incluir la desactivación de la cuenta de la parte denunciada.
