Argentina presentará un proyecto para la legalización del aborto
Las sesiones sobre este tema habían quedado interrumpidas por la aprobación del confinamiento el pasado 20 marzo, debido a la pandemia del coronavirus.
El presidente de Argentina, Alberto Fernández, presentará en noviembre un proyecto de legalización del aborto para su tratamiento en sesiones extraordinarias del Congreso, afirmó este martes la secretaria Legal y Técnica de la Nación, Vilma Ibarra, una de sus impulsoras.
“Es oficial, el presidente va a enviar el proyecto de ley en el año 2020, en el mes de noviembre, y va a ser incorporado en el temario de extraordinarias”, dijo Ibarra al canal de noticias C5N.
Junto al proyecto de interrupción voluntaria del embarazo (IVE), el Ejecutivo propondrá un Plan de los mil días, que ofrece acompañamiento de la maternidad y a los primeros tres años de vida de los niños en situación de vulnerabilidad, para evitar causales económicas en la decisión de abortar.
“No queremos que ninguna mujer piense en aborto por su imposibilidad de atender económicamente al bebé que tiene deseo de tener”, precisó Ibarra a radio El Destape.
El anuncio se conoce en momentos en que aumenta la presión de organizaciones feministas y de la Campaña por el aborto legal, seguro y gratuito que reclaman su tratamiento “urgente”.
El presidente “asumió ese compromiso en campaña electoral y lo ratificó ante la Asamblea Legislativa el 1 de marzo, y cada vez que fue consultado”, afirmó Ibarra pero justificó la demora en que Argentina está “cursando un año muy complejo por lo que sucedió con la pandemia” del coronavirus.
La promesa de Fernández que ilusionó al activismo del pañuelo verde -el símbolo que identifica la lucha por el aborto legal-, quedó trunca con el confinamiento decretado el 20 de marzo. En ese momento se suspendieron las sesiones parlamentarias, luego reanudadas en forma remota, y se agudizaron las tensiones entre oficialismo y oposición.
