Activistas LGTB piden a la Corte de México que se implementen baños unisex en centros comerciales
Aseguran que esta medida sería una solución para eliminar la discriminación de las personas transgénero en estos espacios.
Activistas LGTB buscan, a través de la Corte Suprema de México, eliminar los letreros de asignación de género en los baños de los centros comerciales e implementar espacios unisex para erradicar la discriminación de las personas transgénero.
Este pedido nace a raíz de un caso de discriminación ocurrido en enero de 2020 contra personas transgénero por no permitirles el acceso a baños que correspondan a su identidad de género actual.
Asimismo, activistas LGTB, a través de tres demandas de amparo, piden que el máximo tribunal del país elimine la asignación de género en los servicios higiénicos, proponiendo así la implementación de baños neutros en los centros comerciales.
“Se busca que el tema no solo sea acceder a estos espacios, a los baños; también que estas empresas se comprometan a cursos de capacitación y sensibilización en temas de orientación sexual e identidad y expresión de género”, señaló.
Cuando el caso llegó a juzgados y tribunales, se reconoció el daño físico ejercido hacia las mujeres trans discriminadas. Sin embargo, ahora buscan que la Corte Suprema resuelva a su favor por “daño moral”.
A la demanda de Jessica y Alessa, se sumaron más personas transgénero que reclaman a diferentes empresas una indemnización por daños que derivan de actos discriminatorios en su contra. “Una mujer trans no tiene que demostrar quién es”, afirmó la activista.
