Abuelo muere por COVID-19 después que su nieta saliera de fiesta y lo contagiara
Tras adquirir el coronavirus, la joven permaneció diez días inconsciente y al despertar se enteró que su abuelo había fallecido.
Una joven de 20 años, residente del estado de Texas, en Estados Unidos, acudió a una fiesta y luego, sin saber que estaba contagiada del nuevo coronavirus, visitó a su abuelo, quien desafortunadamente perdió la vida debido a la enfermedad, informó SDP Noticias.
De acuerdo a los medios estadounidenses que citaron al médico Joseph Chang, director del Hospital Parkland de la ciudad de Dallas, la nieta acudió a una fiesta en la que participaron sus amigos y después fue a la vivienda de sus abuelos, sin imaginar que tenía el virus en su organismo.
Algunos días después, tanto la joven como su abuelo de 80 años fueron trasladados en un centro de salud y los derivaron a la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI), donde necesitaron de un respirador mecánico. Tras pasar 10 días internada, la joven despertó, pero su abuelo falleció a causa del coronavirus.
El titular del nosocomio habló sobre el lamentable incidente y señaló la urgencia de cumplir con el distanciamiento social, la cuarentena y las demás medidas preventivas, sobre todo cuando se comparte hogar con los grupos de riesgo, como los adultos mayores.
Este caso se registró a mediados de julio en el estado de Florida, cuando un joven salió con sus amigos una noche, acción que bastó para que llevara el coronavirus a su vivienda y propagara el patógeno a toda su familia, lo que afectó principalmente a su padre, de 42 años, quien padecía de diabetes y sobrepeso.
