Aborto legal en Argentina: así fue la celebración en las calles

Envueltas en sus pañuelos verdes y con el puño en alto, miles de mujeres pasaron la noche frente al Congreso de Argentina, mientras los legisladores pronunciaban uno a uno su voto en la maratónica sesión que culminó la madrugada del miércoles 30 de diciembre con la aprobación de la legalización del aborto.
“Es un estrés que se siente en la panza. Imagínate que se está votando si yo, como persona y como mujer, tendré o no el derecho a decidir lo que pasa en mi vida y en mi cuerpo”, dijo emocionada Cinthya Velas, una maestra de preescolar de 29 años.
Junto a su hermana Claudia y su amiga Flor, una mujer trans de 35 años, se toman fuertemente de las manos frente a una pantalla gigante en el exterior del Congreso que transmitía en vivo la sesión de los senadores.
Durante más de 12 horas, los parlamentarios expusieron acalorados argumentos a favor y en contra de la legalización del aborto hasta la semana 14 de gestación.
El suspenso se atizaba cuando algunos miembros del oficialista Frente de Todos dieron la espalda a la ley impulsada por el presidente Alberto Fernández (centro-izquierda), mientras que ciertos senadores católicos otorgaron su voto a favor, al margen de sus creencias religiosas.
Hasta el último minuto, los legisladores esgrimieron alegatos contradictorios, que oscilaban entre el carácter “histórico” e “inevitable” de la ley, hasta el “inviable” y “anticonstitucional”.
