En la madrugada del último viernes 24 de febrero, 2.000 pandilleros fueron trasladados al Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo (CECOT) en El Salvador. El presidente Nayib Bukele mostró, a través de su cuenta de Twitter, cómo fue este impresionante operativo de traslado de los pandilleros a la megacárcel, quienes estaban ordenados en filas, totalmente rapados y solo vestían pantaloneta blanca.
“Esta será su nueva casa, donde vivirán por décadas, mezclados, sin poder hacerle más daño a la población. Seguimos…#GuerraContraPandillas”, fue el mensaje publicado por el mandatario salvadoreño junto a la grabación.
¿Cómo es la megacárcel de El Salvador?
El Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo, localizado a solo unos 200 metros de la vía del tren, albergará a más de 40.000 detenidos, cuyo resguardo requiere de 600 soldados de las Fuerzas Armadas y 250 efectivos de la Policía Nacional Civil.
Esta prisión “tendrá espacio para 40.000 terroristas, quienes estarán incomunicados del mundo exterior”, afirmó Bukele previamente en un mensaje publicado en Twitter en julio pasado.
La gigantesca cárcel ha sido levantada en una aislada zona del país. El centro penitenciario se ubica en el municipio de Tecoluca en el departamento de San Vicente, al oriente de la capital del país.
Familares de presos pagan US$170
De acuerdo al medio argentino Infobae, en las cárceles hay “tiendas institucionales” a las que los familiares de presos depositan de 5 a 150 dólares mensualmente para que los reos puedan comprar artículos de primera necesidad.
“Todo lo compran a sobreprecio. Una Coca Cola que afuera vale 2,50 dólares, ahí la venden a 10 dólares″, contó el pariente de un reo al medio.

La organización Socorro Jurídico Humanitario (SJH) ha denunciado que cuatro de los detenidos durante el régimen de excepción impuesto por el Gobierno de El Salvador han aparecido muertos en una fosa común, por lo que alerta que estas personas murieron bajo custodia del Estado y fueron enterradas sin informar a sus familiares.
«Iniciamos la sistematización de las personas inocentes que el Estado capturó, metió en prisión, mató y enterró en fosas comunes sin dar aviso a familiares. Ninguno está perfilado como pandillero, todos sin haber sido vencidos en juicio», ha publicado SJH en un comunicado en Twitter.
