Vacuna contra el coronavirus desarrollada por Moderna podría costar poco menos de 38 mil colones
En un experimento realizado en monos se constató que la dosis generó anticuerpos y linfocitos T, indispensables para la respuesta inmunitaria.
La vacuna desarrollada por la biotecnológica Moderna, con institutos de salud de Estados Unidos, podría tener un valor de hasta casi 38 mil colones por cada dosis.
Se trata de una de las dos vacunas occidentales, junto con la elaborada por la Universidad de Oxford con la farmacéutica australiana AstraZeneca, que comenzó a ser experimentada a gran escala.
A pesar de los rumores, desde Moderna aún no confirman el precio final que tendrán las dosis.
Ocho monos fueron vacunados durante el estudio de esta vacuna y expuestos al nuevo coronavirus, de los cuales siete no de registraron una replicación detectable del patógeno en sus pulmones dos días después y ninguno de los ocho tenía virus en la nariz, según los resultados publicados por la revista médica New England Journal of Medicine.
