La Nueva Realidad de la Prostitución
«En solo dos clics, la chica está con el cliente», describe Agnès (pseudónimo), investigadora de la Brigada de Represión del Proxenetismo (BRP). Inspirado en los servicios de entrega a domicilio, este modelo digital de prostitución permite a los clientes conectarse a un sitio web, seleccionar la categoría, el precio y la hora, y la prostituta se dirige al lugar de alojamiento del cliente.
La comisaria Virginie Dreesen, jefa de la BRP, expresa su preocupación sobre cómo los Juegos Olímpicos afectarán esta nueva era de la prostitución en línea, que representa el 80% de la actividad. «¿Habrá una mayor demanda de servicios sexuales a domicilio, similar a la entrega de comida o drogas?», se pregunta Dreesen.
De la Calle a Internet
Hasta principios de los 2000, la prostitución era visible en las calles. Sin embargo, tras la pandemia de COVID-19, la actividad se ha trasladado en gran medida a Internet. Según Médicos del Mundo, actualmente hay 46,668 anuncios en una de las páginas web más populares dedicadas a este negocio.
Amar Protesta (pseudónimo), de 33 años, comenzó su carrera en la prostitución en las calles, ofreciendo servicios a cambio de comida, pero luego se trasladó a Internet para financiar sus estudios. Para ella, la prostitución en línea es «una herramienta muy poderosa de emancipación económica».
Riesgos y Desafíos
A pesar de las ventajas económicas, la prostitución en línea no está exenta de peligros. Desde 2019, se han registrado más de 65,000 denuncias de clientes considerados «de riesgo» o «muy peligrosos» en una plataforma especializada. Amar cuenta cómo fue agredida por negarse a una práctica sexual y expresa su preocupación por ser denunciada durante los Juegos Olímpicos debido a los llamados a señalar la explotación sexual.
Refuerzos Policiales y Prohibiciones
Con la cercanía de los Juegos, la vigilancia policial se ha intensificado en las áreas donde operan las prostitutas. En lugares como el bosque de Boulogne, las furgonetas de las trabajadoras sexuales han desaparecido debido a la prohibición de estacionamiento. Hua, una prostituta china en las calles de Belleville, describe cómo los constantes controles de identidad la han llevado a reducir su actividad laboral.
Expectativas y Preparativos
La BRP prevé que las redes de prostitución latinoamericanas y el proxenetismo en los suburbios pobres de París puedan satisfacer la demanda durante los Juegos Olímpicos. La fiscalía de París también está atenta a un posible incremento en la demanda, aunque apunta a las dificultades de acceso a las zonas de prostitución y a la fuerte presencia de fuerzas de seguridad.
La llegada de clientes con «medios financieros importantes» podría impulsar la demanda de prostitutas de lujo («escorts»), aunque una fuente policial sugiere que este fenómeno «será quizás muy discreto».
