Samsung Presenta el Galaxy Ring: El Futuro de los Anillos Inteligentes
En el Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC), Samsung anunció su incursión en la industria de los anillos inteligentes con el lanzamiento del Galaxy Ring. Aunque la compañía había estado trabajando en este proyecto por un tiempo, solo recientemente hicieron oficial su lanzamiento.
El Galaxy Ring, diseñado para parecerse a un anillo tradicional, carece de pantallas y controles táctiles, aunque es un poco más grueso que un anillo común. Estará disponible en tres colores: dorado, negro y oro, aunque estas opciones podrían variar al momento de su lanzamiento. Dentro del anillo se encuentran varios sensores destinados a monitorear la actividad física y la salud del usuario.
Durante la presentación en el MWC, Samsung destacó la larga duración de la batería del Galaxy Ring, aunque no especificaron la duración exacta. Sin embargo, se mencionó que podría durar hasta 7 días con una sola carga. Además, los usuarios tendrán la opción de activar todas las funciones del anillo, lo que aumentará el consumo de batería, o desactivar algunas características para prolongar la autonomía.
El presidente de Samsung explicó la elección del diseño del anillo: “Decidimos lanzar el dispositivo en forma de un anillo que se puede llevar cómodamente durante mucho tiempo, como algo esencial para completar la salud digital”.
Funcionalidades del Samsung Galaxy Ring
Este innovador dispositivo inteligente ofrecerá una variedad de funciones, incluyendo la monitorización del sueño y la salud. Equipado con un sensor de electrocardiogramas (ECG), un detector biométrico para medir el pulso y los niveles de oxígeno en sangre, y un registro de las actividades deportivas, el Galaxy Ring también evaluará la preparación física y mental del usuario.
Los sensores integrados permitirán monitorear el sueño, el estado de salud actual e incluso la presión arterial y la detección de fibrilación auricular. Algunas de estas funciones requerirán la aprobación de autoridades médicas, similar a las funciones del Galaxy Watch.
Además, el Galaxy Ring se integrará con Samsung Food, ayudando a mejorar la dieta del usuario al hacer recomendaciones basadas en las mediciones obtenidas. Según Android Authority, Samsung también está colaborando con Natural Cycles, una aplicación para el seguimiento de la fertilidad, para ofrecer mediciones más precisas gracias a los sensores del anillo.
El dispositivo contará con un «modo perdido», evitando que otra persona pueda configurarlo sin la cuenta original de Samsung. En este modo, una luz en el anillo parpadeará para facilitar su localización.
Es importante destacar que el Galaxy Ring no sustituirá al Galaxy Watch. En cambio, será compatible con el reloj de Samsung, potenciando sus funciones de salud y estado físico, y se integrará con Samsung Health para ofrecer una experiencia de monitoreo más completa.
